Day 15

I'm 2 weeks old today! To celebrate, I went to Colorado Springs with mommy, uncle Craig and grandpa. We visited with grandma Carol's aunt and uncle who live down there, and we also made a stop at the Olympic Training facilities. Mom says that I can pick which sport I want to play - so I'm thinking hockey! I kind of slept thru our visit but I know I'll get back there again in the future. We had a really long day. We left home at 10:00 in the morning and got home at 7:45 at night. Good thing I sleep a lot!

Day 14

Go Twins! Today I wore my Twins bib in hopes that the White Sox would lose to Detroit. As of this entry, that's not looking good so I'm wearing it in hopes of the Twins winning tomorrow. Today I hung out with grandpa, uncle Craig and mommy - we went to Target and loaded up on stuff and then came home and watched baseball.

Day 13

Today was eventful! I met my grandpa and my uncle Craig - granted I slept through most of it until shortly before they left this evening, but that's what I do - sleep all day so I can be up all night!

Day 12

Today was a busy day. I slept pretty good last night for mom and dad - better than the night before! We went to Grandma Helen's and saw grandma, Aunt Judy, Uncle Pete, Uncle Joe, Uncle Gary and all the cousins. I slept through all of it except for lunch. Tonight I was pretty cranky again. It took mom and dad about 3 hours to calm me down. They tried pretty much everything but nothing really calmed me down for long. But now I'm finally sleeping for a while.

Day 11

Time is flying! Unless it's the middle of the night when I wake up and won't go back to sleep for mom and dad. I was up for 3 hours straight last night, but finally fell back to sleep at 5:30 this morning and slept for almost 4 hours. Today I'm pretty pooped. We went to the vet to pick up some medicine for Helton and then to the hospital to have my blood drawn for a genetic screen. I'm really getting sick of having my foot poked! This afternoon I spent some time in my swing so that my mom could get a few things done around here.

Day 10

Here I am, all dressed up. We had an appointment with the lactation consultant at the hospital - of course I performed really well for her. I don't do so well when it's just me and mommy, unfortunately. After that we went to mommy's doctor's appointment, and then to Target to get a few things. I slept through all of that stuff. I've been really cranky this afternoon and evening, but daddy got me to calm down and now I'm taking a nap.

Day 9

an early picture today! Mom gives me a bath every morning and today I really enjoyed it. Usually I cry, but today I was really good. I'm already dry and have my diaper on, but I really like my blanket! I think we'll take another walk this afternoon after we both have a nap and I have some lunch!

Day 8

I'm one week old today! This morning, mommy had to go downtown for a couple hours so Grandma Helen watched me. I slept from 10:30-1:30 (mommy got home at 1:00). After lunch, mommy took me for a walk around the neighborhood. It was pretty exciting, as you can tell!

Day 7

No more jaundice! Mommy took me back to the doctor this morning and they gave me the all clear. I got to spend some time in my crib this morning and checked out my nursery.

Day 6

Here I am - notice something missing? It's my Bili Bed! The doctor gave me the ok to come out of it and I'm so happy! I got to spend a lot of time snuggling with mom and dad today to make up for the last 2 days!

A bit of a late start

Four years ago, the sister-in-law of the guy I was dating had a plan to take a picture of her newborn every day of the first year of his life. So, I thought that was something I would like to do with little miss Violet Emilee, so her far away grandparents and other friends and relatives can see her grow up over the next year. Life has been hectic since we have been home from the hospital, so she is already five days old. So, I now present to you the first five days of Violet's life.

(hint: you can click on any of the pictures to see them much larger)

Day 1:
Welcome to the world, beautiful baby girl!

Day 2:
Only a day old and already styling her beautiful hair

Day 3:
I'm ready to go home!

Day 4:
Do you like my special bed? I don't :(

Day 5:
All dressed up for a trip to the doctor's. Again.

Stay tuned!
